Empowering African Talent for a Future Beyond Earth.
Moonshot Africa was born from a mission to break barriers and create opportunities in the space industry. Our founder, Linda Ngozwana, a rocket scientist, knows firsthand the challenges of navigating the aerospace sector as a young African. From limited resources and mentorship to a lack of representation, the journey into space often feels out of reach.
Determined to change this, Linda envisioned a platform that connects African talent to the global space industry through mentorship, skills development, and career opportunities. To bring this vision to life, she reached out to Siyanda Mahlati and Mbali Mfeka, founders of an online educational start-up, whose expertise in education and training aligned perfectly with Moonshot Africa’s mission of empowering young minds with knowledge.
We exist to address three key barriers
1. Lack of Awareness – Many don’t realize how space technology impacts daily life and the existence of the thriving African space economy.
2. Lack of Representation – Without visible role models, it’s hard to dream of a future in space.
3. Lack of Relevant Skills – Many aspiring professionals lack the training needed to break into the industry.
At Moonshot Africa, we are building an ecosystem where young Africans can dream big, gain the skills they need, and access global space industry opportunities. Because for us, the sky isn’t the limit—space is. 🚀
